Custom Homes in Driftwood and Dripping Springs

Prefer a touch of country living to that of the city? If you prefer the quieter side of living, and you don’t want to compromise on the quality of your new dream home, explore Driftwood and Drippings Springs. Austin’s more rural settings still offer exemplary schools and abundant shopping with close proximity to downtown and all that Austin has to offer.

Both of these picturesque Texas towns, Driftwood and Dripping Springs, are ideal places for families looking for quiet countryside, gorgeous scenery and accessibility to the city when they want it.

Driftwood is located in northern Hays Country, TX and many people have heard of it due to its internationally known BBQ restaurant, The Salt Lick. In addition to world-famous barbeque, Driftwood is also home to Driftwood Estate Winery, The Wildflower Barn Event Center and the Lazy 8 Ranch, which had its dry mix products featured by the Texas Department of Agriculture in the 2010 Texas State Fair.Driftwood is growing quickly, but it definitely has a “small town” feel even though it is only a 30-minute drive from Austin. Shops, restaurants, businesses and neighborhoods are claiming their spot on the map.

Location

Located on the outskirts of Driftwood, yet closer to Austin, is Dripping Springs, known as the “Gateway to the Hill Country.” It is home to nearly 30,000 people who love the peaceful Hill Country lifestyle, the exceptional school system and the close proximity to both Austin and San Antonio. This summer, Dripping Springs was awarded “Gold Scenic City Certification” by the Scenic City Certification Program of Scenic Texas. It is one of only 52 cities in Texas to receive this distinction.

Situated in the Texas Hill Country and running harmoniously along with Lake Austin, Lake Travis, and Pedernales River shores, Lakeway, Steiner Ranch, and Spicewood boast highly ranked schools, plenty of dining and shopping, hospitals and medical facilities, new business centers, gorgeous views, and waterfront fun. Lake Travis is also unique because it is perfect for every outdoor activity from golfing, fishing, hunting, and hiking to swimming in natural springs or visiting local wineries.

Dripping Springs is dedicated to making the most of its natural beauty and resources, which is another great reason to call it home. In March 2014, the City of Dripping Springs announced it will be receiving help from the National Park Service (NPS) Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance program in its efforts to develop a vibrant Central Texas trail system designed to link residents to parks, shops, schools and various points of interest throughout Dripping Springs.

Dripping Springs is home to restaurants like Pieous pizzeria, Stanley’s Farmhouse Pizza and Thyme and Dough Bakery. Living local with local brew is easy thanks to Jester King Brewery and Twisted X Brewing Company, also located in Dripping Springs. Plus, many local farms like New Canaan Farms are thriving in the Hill Country where you can buy homemade preserves and sauces.
