Austin is in a six-way tie with Dallas, Fort Worth, Nashville, Tucson and Washington, D.C. for the No. 17 spot on a list that ranks the “greenest cities” in the United States.
The ranking by Corporate Knights, a Canadian research and media company covering what officials there call “clean capitalism,” worked with Tufts University Professor Kent E. Portney to determine which American cities had the most supportive policies for sustainability.
Portland, Seattle and San Francisco tied for first place.
